Ghiant fabric paints
KSh 1,200.00
A water-based fabric paint in a 150ml spray can, for colouring T-shirts, bags, cushions, and other textiles. Spray on bright, even colour, then fix it with an iron to make it washable. Low in solvents compared with standard aerosols.
Description
Colour your fabrics with a spray
A spray makes fabric painting fast. Instead of brushing colour on in small sections, you spray a fine, even coat over a whole T-shirt, a tote bag, or a stencil design in seconds. It’s a quick way to create gradients, stencilled patterns, splatter effects, and solid colour on textiles.
Ghiant H2O Textile Colour Spray is water-based and contains about 90% less solvent than standard aerosols, which makes it a more pleasant paint to use. Once the paint is dry, you fix it with an iron, which sets the colour so you can wash the item.

How to use
- If possible, wash the item first, so the fabric is clean and free of finishes. This is only recommended for items that you’ll wash.
- Lay the item flat on a protected surface, and place stencils or masking where needed.
- Shake the can well, and test on a spare piece of fabric.
- Hold the can about 15 to 20cm from the fabric, and spray enough paint to cover the area.
- Leave to dry completely.
- To fix the colour, iron the item at around 120°C. If possible, place greaseproof paper on both sides of the painted area.
- After fixing, wash by hand, or in a machine at no more than 30°C.
Tips for better results
- Light-coloured fabrics show the colour best. Dark fabrics will change the shade.
- Test on a scrap piece first to check the colour and the spray pattern.
- Spray in light, even passes, and build up the colour gradually. A heavy coat can run.
- Tape stencils down firmly, or use spray adhesive on the back, to keep edges crisp.
- Place a sheet of cardboard or paper inside T-shirts and bags, so the paint doesn’t bleed through to the other side.
- Work in a well-ventilated space, and protect the surrounding area from overspray.
- After use, turn the can upside down and spray briefly until it runs clear, to keep the nozzle from clogging.
- Store the can upright in a cool place, away from heat.
Good to know
- The paint must be fixed with an iron to become washable. Check the heat resistance of the fabric before ironing, and use a lower heat for delicate fabrics.
- It works best on natural and cotton-rich fabrics. Test synthetic fabrics first.
- Use in a well-ventilated area, and follow the safety instructions on the can.
- Aerosol cans are hazardous items. Keep away from heat and flames.
- Keep out of reach of young children.
