Winsor & Newton Calligraphy Ink
KSh 900.00
Winsor & Newton Calligraphy Ink in a 30ml bottle. Lightfast, vibrant colour that flows smoothly from a dip pen or brush, for lettering, calligraphy, and drawing.
Description
Professional calligraphy ink from a trusted name
Winsor & Newton has been making artist materials for generations, and its calligraphy inks are built for clean, consistent lettering. The colours are bright, they’re lightfast, and they’re formulated with carefully chosen pigments so they stay vivid on the page. Most shades are made from a single pigment, which also keeps mixtures clean if you like to blend your own.
The ink is not waterproof, and that’s by design. It flows freely, is much less likely to clog your pen, and lets you correct or adjust your work with water. It is a good choice for practice, finished pieces, and everything in between.

Best paper for the job
Use smooth, good-quality paper such as cartridge paper or hot-pressed watercolour paper. Thin or very absorbent paper can cause bleeding. For practice, layout paper works well.
Tips for better results
- Stir or gently swirl the bottle before use so the pigment is evenly mixed.
- Wipe the excess ink from the nib on the rim of the bottle to avoid blobs.
- Use a sable or goat hair brush for lettering with a softer, more expressive line.
- Clean your pen or brush regularly to keep the ink flowing smoothly.
- Give the ink time to dry before touching it, especially in thick strokes.
- Close the bottle tightly and store it upright, away from direct sunlight.
The ink isn’t waterproof, so it can be reactivated with water. Keep finished work away from moisture, or sealed if you need protection. Colours on screen may look slightly different in person. Keep out of reach of young children.
