Montana caps
KSh 100.00
Montana Level caps in three spray widths: Level 1 for extra fine lines, Level 4 for medium to wide soft lines, and Level 5 for wide, bold coverage. They fit most female-valve spray cans. Sold per piece.
Description
Pick the spray width that fits the job
The cap on a spray can decides how the paint lands. A fine cap gives you sharp, thin lines for detail, and a fat cap fills big areas quickly. Montana’s Level system numbers its caps from 1 (the finest) to 6 (the widest), so you can match the cap to the work. It was developed for Montana GOLD low-pressure paint, and it works well with Montana BLACK, WHITE, and CHALK cans too.
These three levels cover a good range: fine detail, soft general work, and bold fills.
Choose your level
| Level | Type | Average spray width | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Ultra skinny cap | 0.4 to 1.5cm | Extra fine lines, detail, thin outlines, and small work |
| Level 4 | Soft fat cap | 3 to 10cm | Medium to wide lines, general fills, and soft, even coverage |
| Level 5 | Wide fat cap | 4 to 15cm | Large areas, thick outlines, and big backgrounds |
Spray width changes with distance. Spray from closer for a thinner line, and from further away for a wider one.

- Smooth, consistent spray from caps made for Montana paint
- Fits most female-valve cans, including Montana, MTN, Ironlak, Molotow, Flame, and others

Great for
- Fine detail, thin lines, and small shapes (Level 1)
- General fills, lettering, and medium outlines (Level 4)
- Large backgrounds, bold outlines, and murals (Level 5)
- Street art, mural projects, and workshops
- Practice, since swapping caps is a good way to learn how spray width affects a line
How to use it
- Pull the old cap off the can and keep the can upright.
- Push the new cap firmly onto the valve until it sits securely.
- Test on a spare surface first, since the spray width changes with distance.
- For a wider line, spray from further away. For a narrower line, move closer.
- Keep your hand moving, and spray in smooth passes to avoid drips.
- After use, turn the can upside down and spray briefly until it runs clear, to keep the cap from clogging.
- These are male caps. They fit cans with a female valve, which is the type most Montana, MTN, Ironlak, and Molotow cans use. They won’t fit cans with a male valve.
- Fat caps (Levels 4 and 5) can apply too much paint on small projects and cause drips, so use a finer cap for detail work.
- Spray paint should be used outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. Wear a suitable mask, and follow the safety instructions on the can.
- Keep out of reach of young children.
